Professional Development for A-level teachers - An Introduction to Hypothesis Testing, Monday 8 June 2026

This is a free (for state funded schools and colleges) professional development opportunity for teachers. It will run in-person on Monday 8 June from 13:00 until 16:30 at Imperial College London, South Kensington.
 
This course will explore ways to introduce Hypothesis Testing to students, consider misconceptions, and examine required mark schemes. Note: prior knowledge of the binomial distribution is required.

Dr Eugenia Cheng is a mathematician, educator, author, concert pianist, composer and artist, and will be joining us to speak about gender equality in mathematics. The evening will also include information for September 2027 applicants. 
 
Our talk from Dr Eugenia Cheng will be on Tuesday 16 June from 17:00-18:30. It will be hosted at Woodhouse College in North Finchley. This talk will be suitable for all ages, though is primarily aimed at secondary school students.

Girls into Maths - Summer School with Ayliean MacDonald, Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 July 2026

Girls into Maths is a free, two day programme on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 July at Imperial Maths School in North Finchley. Day one will be a series of fun Maths workshops with Ayliean MacDonald. On day two, we will visit Imperial College London and the Science Museum!
 
This course is aimed at year 10 girls with a passion for Maths, aiming for a 7 or above in their GCSEs. Preference will be given to applicants who are from groups currently underrepresented in the Mathematical Sciences. However, all year 10 girls are welcome to apply.
