Axiom Maths

"Axiom Maths is fun, enjoyable and helpful to anyone who likes maths" - current Axiom Maths student

We have partnered with Axiom Maths to deliver Maths Circles to students in local schools. We currently have three cohorts of students doing Axiom Maths, and will be recruiting another to start in the Spring term of 2026. We ask that teachers nominate year 7 students that have "the head and the heart for maths" to participate in this programme.

These sessions are held each Wednesday afternoon, with one in every four sessions being in-person at Imperial Maths School and the rest being online. Students are mentored by our Imperial Maths School students and the lessons are organised into 'maths circles'; groups of 5-7 students plus one mentor. In these smaller groups, students get a chance to explore problem solving methods and discuss in detail their working.

Maths Extra for Year 7s

We are excited to be launching Maths Xtra for Year 7s! This will be running after school in-person on Tuesdays, starting in the Spring term 2027. Maths Xtra is designed for students who have a passion and talent for maths, who want to expand their knowledge beyond the GCSE curriculum. This course is aimed at year 7s with a passion for maths.

Preference will be given to applicants who are from groups underrepresented in the mathematical sciences. However, all students are welcome to apply.

Signups for Maths Xtra for year 10s is currently closed, but will open in Autumn term 2026. If you are interested in joining in future, please fill in this form, and we will contact you when signups open.
