Taught Curriculum
Imperial Maths School's core curriculum is dedicated to developing our students' mathematical abilities, confidence and character in a supportive, familiar setting. Our compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated teachers will encourage our students to be curious, to question and to challenge. We offer the choice of taking three or four A Levels over two years. All students must take Maths and Further Maths. The school also offers Physics and Chemistry, with all students studying at least one of these subjects.
If a student opts to study three A levels at Imperial Maths School, they also have the opportunity to broaden their curricular horizons by taking a fourth A Level at
Woodhouse College
. Due to the demands of studying four A Levels, we have a higher GCSE requirement for this particular pathway. This offer is subject to spaces being available for the chosen A Level at Woodhouse and meeting Woodhouse College's entry requirement for that A Level.
Full details are contained in our admissions policy, which can be found on our
Admissions
page, and is updated before the opening of the application window.
Maths and Further Maths
Students are taken on a journey through mathematics, deepening their understanding and helping them connect different areas of the subject to the world around them.
Chemistry
Students study physical, inorganic and organic chemistry, with their learning underpinned by experiments on the behaviour and structure of chemical elements and compounds.
Physics
We deepen students' understanding of subatomic particles, fields, heat and motion, among other concepts. Through experimentation they test and put theory into practice.
Additional A Level
Students can study a fourth A Level at our partner school, Woodhouse College. This is subject to availability and them meeting Woodhouse’s criteria for any chosen course.
